Leaving the Left
I saw this on Sunday, and haven’t gotten around to mentioning it until today. I thought I’d let a [former?] liberal explain my feelings about the so-called ‘progressives’ that seem to have completely lost their bearings in this country. Give it a read; Keith Thompson says it better than I can (although I’m about to say it anyway).
Journalistic Freedom for Students?
Some students in Bakersfield, California are suing their school [and/or district] for prohibiting the publication of articles on homosexuality which said students wish to publish in the school newspaper. Read about it from the AP via CNN [no longer available].
The students should lose.
Minor Changes to Front Page Content
I’m making some minor changes to how I display the Front Page of Off on a Tangent. First, I’ve made it a bit shorter. There are now only five items shown with contentâone ‘headline’ item at the top, and four secondary items.
Trump Pushes Own Ground Zero Plan
You all know what I think about the World Trade Center plan (see Group proposes rebuilding Twin Towers and How about making it look good?). Turns out that Donald Trump agrees with me! He has proposed rebuilding the twin towers in New York mostly as they were beforeâonly more than 100 feet taller. This is what the real-estate mogul has to say about the Libeskind plan:
